Responsibilities:
Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, valves, pumps, and treatment equipment.
Perform manual labor tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipe, pouring concrete, and backfilling excavations using hand tools and power equipment.
Operate construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, skid-steer loaders, and compaction equipment, under the direction of qualified operators.
Follow blueprints, specifications, and instructions from supervisors to ensure projects are completed according to quality standards and safety regulations.
Assist with the assembly and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components, including pumps, motors, control panels, and instrumentation.
Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to promote a culture of safety and identify and address potential hazards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and job site materials, and report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
Work collaboratively with team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in construction or related fields, with a focus on water and wastewater infrastructure preferred.
Knowledge of construction techniques, tools, and equipment used in water and wastewater projects.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and climbing, often in adverse weather conditions and challenging environments.
Basic math and measurement skills, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification preferred.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet project deadlines.
